Today will remain on my memory as the day the world lost a great visionary. The reason I don’t talk about Apple products is that I’ve never owned any. However, I’ve admired Steve Jobs as a leader for a long time. Without his visionary leadership companies like Apple and Pixar would not develop into what they are today. I just re-watched one of the videos of Steve Jobs presenting and wanted to share it with you.
Share the video with your friends and colleagues (you don’t have to share this page, just share the Youtube video with your networks) and spread the three stories from the video.
Since the election campaign last year Jo Williams and I have been working on a few social media projects together. One of the biggest thing we agree on is that social media as presented by the main stream is just a top of the iceberg. There’s a lot more that goes into a successful social media marketing initiative than just having the profiles setup. Jo is amazing at locating and sharing great content on social media marketing. Here’s one of her latest shares from Social Media Examiner:
Here’s another urge to share something that gets me goose bumps. Although I don’t play alternative myself I deeply enjoy listening to this genre. Dream Theater is one of my favourite bands of all genres and times! Each band member is a genius. This video is called “Instrumedy” or “The dance of instruments”. You’ll see what I mean. This particular video is done in a way to show all of them playing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I wanted to share a great TED talk about how to start a movement. In 3 minutes Derek Sivers shares insights with an awesome delivery! I hope you enjoy it.
A few days ago I posted about one of my favourite bands – Muse – and their performance at SXSW 2010. Today I wanted to share another band I love – Mumiy Troll also featured at SXSW 2010. The band is Russian! Here’s the video and below is a description given to Mumiy Troll by North American media.
Mumiy Troll (pronounced Moo-me Troll) is undoubtedly the most significant band that modern Russia has produced since the fall of the Soviet regime. They have made their mark with startling albums and live performances that are bursting with energy, combining warmth and total debauchery.
What exactly does the band sound like? Consider the term ROCKAPOPS. Contemporary Russian music is actually divided into what was before and what came after Mumiy Troll. Band founder, frontman Ilya Lagutenko, defined their music style as “rockapops” just to avoid pointless Russian media debates on the definition of what is rock and what is pop. Mumiy Troll became the leader of an entire new musical trend, copied now to greater or lesser degree by Russian wannabees and mainstream artists.
