Friday, April 9th, 2010Mumiy Troll featured at SXSW 2010
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010A few days ago I posted about one of my favourite bands - Muse - and their performance at SXSW 2010. Today I wanted to share another band I love - Mumiy Troll also featured at SXSW 2010. The band is Russian! Here's the video and below is a description given to Mumiy Troll by North American media.
Mumiy Troll (pronounced Moo-me Troll) is undoubtedly the most significant band that modern Russia has produced since the fall of the Soviet regime. They have made their mark with startling albums and live performances that are bursting with energy, combining warmth and total debauchery.
What exactly does the band sound like? Consider the term ROCKAPOPS. Contemporary Russian music is actually divided into what was before and what came after Mumiy Troll. Band founder, frontman Ilya Lagutenko, defined their music style as "rockapops" just to avoid pointless Russian media debates on the definition of what is rock and what is pop. Mumiy Troll became the leader of an entire new musical trend, copied now to greater or lesser degree by Russian wannabees and mainstream artists.
Muse live at SXSW 2010
Friday, March 26th, 2010I'm a digital marketing professional, so I follow what's happening at SXSW 2010. I'm also a person that loves music and I was surprised to see one of my favourite bands performing live at SXSW 2010. Here's a clip from MySpace and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. BTW, Muse is coming to Calgary (Tuesday, Mar 30, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. (MST)).
Canada - Russia game at Brewsters in Calgary last night
Thursday, February 25th, 2010It was a good game. Canada won because they played better last night. Thanks to Anton Matveev for getting us all together. Thanks a huge lot to Valerie Fortney, Stuart Gradon and Rick Donkers of Calgary Herald.
Valerie Fortney has put it well in her article in today's Calgary Herald. A video from the event by Rick Donkers is available on Calgary Herald website. Something that the article missed was that there were two Russian groups at Brewsters that night. The other group was mostly represented by employees of Trican Well Service lead by Konstantin Dyskin as well as a group from Forum.RusAlberta.com community.
On tranparency in relationships
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010I just got a follow up call from one of the dentists in town. They wanted to follow up with me on the matter discussed 2009. New year, new problems, new opportunities. In any case, I was very pleased with the call but had to reject.
The most surprising thing was that I know that I will have to reject and I picked up. This was a feeling unfamiliar to me. I tend to feel bad when I have to reject, which sometimes results in me not picking up the phone. However, this time, knowing who it was, I picked up the phone. I rejected.
In the recall of the conversation I realized that I felt good by telling the truth. The lady on the other side was very pleasant and understanding. I now commit to answer the phone even if I know I have to reject.

So, I went into a bit of research before making my buying decision. Here’s some useful pieces of information I found in my research.
First, an good article on the process of choosing a clicker. The author goes into describing a few key characteristics of presentation remote controls and explains why you may need them. Choosing a Presentation Remote Control
